At Selectrite, we're committed to ensuring our business and products are environmentally sustainable at every level. The construction industry is responsible for almost 40% of the world’s carbon emissions, so we have a huge potential to make a difference and build a cleaner, greener world.

As part of my outreach on sustainability trade missions during 2024 to Copenhagen and UAE and being part of the DHF Sustainability group, I’ve met passionate and committed people like me, who are working together on our organisation’s individual and collective sustainability goals.

Our mission at Selectrite is to work towards achieving more sustainable UK manufacturing solutions and have sustainability at the forefront of our business and strategic decisions. We know that’s becoming an increasingly important factor to you too, and why you would choose our products.

  • What we're doing

    The MK2 Fire Door Coordinator is a high quality, lightweight product that is built to last. The main component is made in the UK and is predominantly made with 78% recycled aluminium from post and pre consumer scrap material. We source material in the UK and have shifted our practices to bulk-buy components, which has reduced energy and transport costs and emissions. 

    The MK2 currently holds a EPD certificate to provide you and your customers with the confidence that it is a sustainable choice for projects.

    We’ve made simple swaps to ensure the packaging we use to send the MK2 Coordinator is now completely plastic free and fully recyclable

    The MK2 Door Coordinator is durable with a sleek and smart design, and built to a high standard. Components can be replaced if needed and it can be recycled at the end of its life.

  • What we're planning

    We know that what you can measure, you can manage. We are reviewing all our practices at Selectrite, both in the manufacturing of products and the organisation as a whole, so we can measure and reduce the impact we make on the environment. We will be continually updating our processes with sustainability in mind and ensuring that you know the updates as and when they happen. 

    We will continue to be an active member of sustainability forums and vocal in the industry, to ensure the progression of sustainability throughout the supply chains we work with.
